Students Evaluation (extracted from the daily reflection of students)

5V   Lam Yik Hang

One of the annual greatest projects, CEI, has finally come to an end. I really want to use this last reflection as an opportunity to express my deepest gratitude and appreciation to everyone in myteam, including teachers, who have given us numerous suggestions for improvementand instill the right attitude during our participation.

Tracing back to myfirst conference (CEI2012 Maastricht) to this year’s conference, from an ‘apprentice’ to the leader, I think my leadership skills, communication strategies and the understandings of foreignculture have been strengthened. These knowledge and skills arenot taught in school so I grasped every moment in the conference for these.

So far I think CEI2014is the most fruitful one among allthose I have taken part. I believe the reason behind is because my role of leader. Being the leaderhas the responsibility to observe the needs and deeds of team members, and give advicesto them for betterperformance. In CEI2014, I could see substantial improvement in all team members.

Today is the fourth day of the conference– three more days to go before it ends. I consider today as an easy and relaxing day as there are less workshops to do and most of them were held indoor.

From the Night Market, I could experience many cuisines from the whole world at the same time. After all, I can conclude that people from different places could have huge differences in tastes, as I tried a few “highly recommended” food were total disasters for me. Accepting different culture is the thing I have to learn.

I met a lot of new friends from different countries in this conference and I hope I can still remember them after the conference. This is because they have become important persons in my life and they have helped me a lot, no matter in our presentation or workshops.

The 28th Caretakers of the Environment International Conference has come to theend. Over these seven days, I have truly experienced the importance of friendship, partnership and social skills.

We, as a team of eight, started our preparation in October 2013. After a series of elimination, I was lucky enough to stay. I believe the reason why Mr.Leung and Ms.Chang chose me to participate in the conferenceis that I have good social skills and I am actually quite responsible.

Now, when I look back at what I have been doing until this moment, I can proudly say that I am a caretaker and weare caretakers.

2M   Yu Ka Ying

This was the first day for us to attend the Caretakers of the Environment International Conference. Actually, I feel that the conference is not as serious as my teammates shared to me before. It should be in a relaxing one.

Once I went to the conference site, I kept saying ‘Hello’, ‘Hi’ and something else. I felt so shy to chat with the overseas participants and I was quite nervous.

The communication with other foreigners is the biggest difficulty for me. Their interests and habits are not same with us at all, making me difficult to join their conversation. I was not confident enough to chat with others after being rejected or ignored.

However, I should not be upset. I should think positively and that would help me to make more friends.
